From floor plan to candlelight

Some homes need walls moved. Some need the right sofa. Some need both. I do all of it. You’ll have fun.

Full-service renovation

Whole homes and condos, rethought from the floor plan up.

I rework the whole house or condo so it flows better, then carry one plan through flooring, tile, plumbing fixtures and lighting. Furniture is included, down to the small details. At the Gulf Beaches Condo: a new kitchen, two new baths, new furniture and lights hidden in the baseboards.

What it includes

  • Flooring, tile, plumbing fixtures, lighting
  • Field trips to vendors and suppliers
  • Final design package for contractor bids
  • Site visits and contractor questions
  • Furniture, down to the small details

Space planning and interior architecture

Walls out. Rooms found. A floor plan that flows.

I love space planning. In downtown St. Pete, two condos became one. We removed every wall and started from just the structural columns. Areas my clients thought were unusable became real rooms. I draft the floor plans and elevations myself. That’s interior architecture.

What it includes

  • Layouts reworked to flow better
  • Rooms from unusable areas
  • Drafted floor plans and elevations

Kitchen and bath design

The hardest-working rooms in the house, planned down to the faucet.

We plan the layout, then take field trips to the suppliers: plumbing, countertops, cabinetry. Bayshore went navy, with a veined stone waterfall peninsula. The Downtown St. Pete Condo went walnut and glossy charcoal tile. Bayshore’s two baths? White marble in one, weathered wood in the other.

What it includes

  • Layouts and cabinetry
  • Counters, tile and plumbing fixtures
  • Vanities, mirrors and hardware
  • Lighting, including the hidden kind

Full-service decorating

All the furniture arrives in one day. You just come home.

I present the furniture options. You choose. I handle the ordering, tracking, receiving and the returns nobody wants to deal with. On delivery day, I direct it all. When you come home, the art is hung, the accessories are placed and the candles are lit.

What it includes

  • Furniture options to choose from
  • Ordering, tracking, receiving, returns
  • One delivery day, under my direction
  • Art hung, accessories placed, candles lit

Custom built-ins and furniture

When the right piece doesn’t exist, we design it.

At Snell Isle: a custom TV wall in black chevron paneling. Downtown St. Pete: every cabinet and built-in, with the finest local custom cabinet maker. For one St. Petersburg living room: a built-in designed around the clients’ art collection. The art gets the best seat in the house.

What it includes

  • Custom TV and media walls
  • Built-ins around your art
  • Custom cabinetry
  • Custom furniture design

Historic homes

The inside should match the outside.

I love historic homes. I work to preserve the architectural style, so the inside is cohesive with the outside, right down to the furniture and the small details. A 1920s bungalow should still feel like a 1920s bungalow when I’m done. Just a much better one to live in.

What it includes

  • Architectural style, preserved
  • Original character, respected
  • Furniture that suits the architecture

Design consultations

An experienced eye, before the big decisions.

Twenty-eight years in, I’ve made the mistakes, so you don’t have to. I’ll tell you honestly what works and what to avoid.

What it includes

  • Layout and space planning
  • Color, finishes and materials
  • Furniture and art
  • What works, and what to avoid

Not sure which one you need? That’s what our first conversation is for.

Tell me about your home.

A floor plan that fights you? A historic home whose inside forgot its outside? My assistant reaches out first. If it sounds like a good fit, I’ll call. Then we meet at my office, centrally located in St. Petersburg.
