My client wanted a masculine apartment that showcases his partner’s artwork. Full remodel. New kitchen, two new baths, new furniture.

Walnut-toned cabinetry and veined stone in the kitchen, with a waterfall island and black stools. White linen seating, a glass coffee table and a shag rug in the living room. A charcoal console on a deep navy wall. Masculine, yes. Quiet enough to let the art do the talking.

Then the light. We focused on different sources: recessed cans, table and floor lighting, hidden lights in the baseboards and mirrors. It’s on the Gulf beaches. Not a seashell in sight.
